The Community of Tremithousa had the honour of being the home village of hero Andreas Chr. Makris, who fell during the Turkish Invasion fighting against the barbarian invaders at the village of Vasileia in August 1974.
Moreover, during the liberating fight of EOKA 1955 – 1959 Charilaos Pistentis was murdered by the British.
